Edun Silk Twill Dress $295.00 Available at: saks.com Recently I had the chance to visit the Grammy Style Studio to get a sneak peak at the hottest designers catering to the stars this year . I spotted two designers that were so worthy of a mention that they deserved their own spotlight. First up: Edun. Edun is a brand that I first found out about right here at Stiletto Jungle. I read an article on the Edun ONE t-shirt and how Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson, had started a socially conscious clothing line to help fight the extreme poverty in Africa by encouraging others to do business and improve working conditions and build sustainable communities in Africa. This cause hit home for me, and I absolutely wanted to participate in some way. They ended up selling tens of thousands of t-shirts worldwide and the Edun label was born. This was my top priority label when I arrived at the Grammy Style Studio; I couldnt wait to check out their new tees and see what else the company has offered since the ONE t-shirt. Imagine my surprise when Ali Hewson herself was there to explain all the pieces and the Edun mission!  read more »

multiple thoughts leading up to the reason for the post... round of thoughts #1: - somewhere around 1999-2000, a lost teenager: i love my miss sixty jeans!!! love love love. my diesels are def moving to #2 on my go to denim list. these are definitely going to increase my best dressed votes. oohh maybe ill wear them after the football game friday. round of thoughts #2: - fast forward to winter of 2007, im driving passed the miss sixty store, located in prime retail space - directly across the street from fred segal, checking to see if it is still open for sales: who still shops there?! and how do they afford rent?!? round of thoughts #3 - early fall 2007 , driving passed the miss sixty store, i find myself pleasantly surprised to see jessica stams face plastered all over the store front as part of their fall/winter 2007-08 ad campaign: ill admit it, impressed by the model choice, miss sixty has superficially bought back some of my distaste. i bet they are undergoing a brand reinvention. round of thoughts #4 - one week later, driving passed the miss sixty store anxiously awaiting freshly fashionable windows: unfortunately the only thing fashionable on this corner is fred segals staple ivy covered walls. maybe next season but i wont hold my breath. i seriously need some coffee, why isnt there a starbucks on crescent? round of thoughts #5 - late fall 2007 at the nylon/miss sixty party hosted by cory kennedy : does a. nylon and b. cory kennedy really want any affiliation with miss sixty or were they bought and for how much?  read more »
