Everyone I know in the fashion world is devastated that Yves Saint Laurent has passed. Suzy Menkes recently told the NYT, "A lot of people, especially those who were introduced to him as an aging designer, forget that in his prime he was so adept at reading the Zeitgeist."

One of the greatest fashion couturiers, Yves Saint Laurent died yesterday at the age of 71 in Paris. He was considered the last of a generation of fashion designers like Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and to me an inspiration....Natalie Zee Drieu
